I recently moved out of West Pine lofts, and my experience was far from satisfactory. One of the most frustrating issues was the flees on the carpet when I moved in . I have no pet, so those were here from the start .Despite numerous complaints, management was neither cooperative nor responsive in addressing the infestation. I moved in to a different unit in the same building .
Additionally, the carpet in my apartment was in terrible condition. It was worn out, stained, and poorly maintained.... Despite multiple requests for repair or replacement, nothing was done.
The pool was often dirty, and the water quality was questionable at best. It seemed like proper maintenance was a low priority, making it an unpleasant and sometimes unusable amenity.
When I finally decided to leave, I was hit with unexpected fees. It seemed like management was trying to find any possible reason to charge me extra. This latest ordeal was the final straw in what had been an overwhelmingly frustrating living experience.
I understand that no apartment is perfect, but the combination of unaddressed bug issues, bad carpet condition, poor pool management, uncooperative staff, and surprise fees makes this place one that I would definitely not recommend.

I'm sharing my frustrating experience with West Pine Lofts to make sure others are aware of what they might face.
First off, when I moved into my apartment, it smelled absolutely awful. I had to spend extra time and effort to clean it myself because it was so bad. That's not how a move-in should be!
And then there's the so-called "community printer" they offer. It's never, I mean NEVER, working. It's advertised as a perk, but it's just a frustrating letdown.
But the worst part? The air... conditioning! The vents were jam-packed with dust. Every time I turned it on, I started coughing like crazy. It's like they never cleaned it, which is just not right!
And now, on top of all this, they've hit me with ridiculous charges when I moved out. I tried to explain that the place wasn't in great shape when I moved in, but they just shrugged it off and insisted I pay up.
I'm writing this so you don't have to go through the same frustrating experience I did. Be cautious when considering West Pine Lofts. They seem more interested in charging you extra fees than providing a decent living experience.
In short, my time with West Pine Lofts has been a headache, and I hope this helps you avoid the same trouble.

I moved into the apartment on August 12, 2022, and left by the end of July 2023. But let me tell you, the place was a complete disaster when I first set foot inside. The worst part? The carpet was a stinky, furry nightmare thanks to the previous tenants, and nobody bothered to clean up after them. I had to roll up my sleeves and spend an entire afternoon scrubbing and cleaning everything. It took me months to get rid of that persistent smell, and I even ended up with a nasty cough and a... respiratory illness because of the filthy carpet and air vents.
Now, get this – when I moved out, they had the nerve to charge me almost $600 for painting the walls, cleaning, and fixing the carpet. Can you believe it? I moved in and had to clean up someone else's mess, and then I had to pay for it when I left! To top it off, the apartment looked even worse than when I moved in. The walls were still in the same sorry state as when I first arrived. I've attached a few pictures from my move-in day and some of the fur I had to vacuum up on day one. It's a real outrage!

The 4.8-star review is not reflective of the actual quality of the apartments. There are a few things that I believe future residents should be made aware of.
To start with, you may be charged ridiculous move-out charges. For example, I was charged for paint damage caused by residents who lived above me. I was also charged over a hundred dollars for the cleaning of my room. I can assure you whatever mess left, if any, did not necessitate the cleaning charges.
These apartments have also failed... to adequately respond in times of need. As an example, there was a tragedy right outside the apartment in which people were shot and, as I recall, were killed. The apartment never directly addressed this incident or informed us as to what happened.
In the end, the apartment is an okay place to live in, but it could use a lot of improvement. Also, make sure you take pictures of the apartment so that you have evidence when they come to you with unwarranted move-out charges. As a side note, these apartments get occasionally electrocuted for some reason.

The first and foremost thing I want to mention is that the staff at West Pine Lofts are amazing! Coming from WA to MO for my SO and I to continue our education we had a lot of coordinating to do when completing our move. The staff here were so helpful, patient, and courteous with us as we completed our move. This even included bringing our copious amounts of packages to us that got shipped unexpectedly wayyy too early (shoutout to Matt and Yalimar for doing all that you did that day!)
The... amenities here are very nice (gym, pool, social center, and printing) and we are satisfied with their continual cleanliness, especially during this time in the pandemic. Additional amenities for us were an in-unit washer & dryer, dishwasher, and included internet/cable.
Our pre-furnished (bedframe, desk, nightstand, TV stand, two barstools, coffee table, couch, and side table) one bedroom one bath is perfect for us and the furnished option is great for students who do not want to absorb the exorbitant costs of moving across the country as we did for school! Further, the distance for school for both of us is ridiculously close and thus alleviates the stress of commuting. We are also very close to Schnucks, Ikea, and a 10-minute drive away from Target, Walmart, and other essential stores.
Out of the various apartments that I've lived in, West Pine Lofts is definitely high up on the list of places to live, especially as a student. Thank you West Pine Lofts for a great introduction to the Midwest! We are looking forward to our stay here!
