Pros: 1. manager is nice. 2. quick maintenance 3. Updated elevators and laundry. 4. good view if you live on top floors.
Cons: 1. very poor furniture quality, needs constant maintenance. High formaldehyde when I moved in. Some windows have no screen windows. AC very loud. The room is hard to keep warm/cool.
2. bed bugs sometimes.
3. washer and dryer charge $2 each one each time.
4. poor gym equipment.
5. uncomfortable online system. The apartment will charge you extra fees for unknown... reasons. You will pay $200 more above rent. The system will eat your money without asking if you wanna stay or move out at the end of term.
6. a lot of ambulance and helicopters passing
7. street park, but there is a small chance to be smashed by crazy drivers (I did)
Hope you will find this helpful.

Convent Gardens was the first place I lived after moving to St. Louis. I looked around at other areas of the city but I am so glad that I ended up in Central West End. It is the perfect neighborhood with a small downtown area with restaurants, bars, shops, and a whole foods all in walking distance. Walking distance to forest park and the hospitals is really nice too! Nick the manager was readily available in his office on the week days which was great if you had any questions or concerns. Nick... is a great manager and works well with the residents and the apartments are great as well (with a great price for the area!). I lived in a studio and it was the perfect size and had a huge closet which was a plus. The other residents were also great, mostly young professionals or grad students. Everyone was very respectful of each other and overall its a great place to start out in the city. The apartments have updated appliances and granite counters, however, there is no central air, only window units. The units are fine and probably actually save money but during the summer it can sometimes get a little warm if they aren't running all the time, but based on other apartments I looked at, many apartments STL don't have centralized air (and some even require that you bring your own units). Thats probably my only complaint! Overall super glad I ended up living here!
